Homestyle Seasoned Ground Turkey
SaveGround turkey cooked with sage, oregano, garlic, and onion powder. Sausage-style flavor without pork.

Allergen tags are cooking labels. They are not medical advice.
Ingredients
- 1 lb / 450 g Ground turkey
- 1 tsp Black pepper
- 1 tsp Onion powder
- 1 tsp Garlic powder
- ¾ tsp Dried sage
- ¾ tsp Dried oregano
- 1 tsp Olive oil, if the turkey is very lean
- ¼ tsp Salt, optional
Method
- Set a skillet over medium. Add the turkey, and the oil if the pan looks dry. Break the meat into crumbles.
- Sprinkle in the pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, sage, and oregano. Cook until no pink remains and the crumbles are lightly browned, 8–10 minutes.
- Add salt only if you want it. Use the crumbles anywhere you would use breakfast sausage or a chili base: folded into eggs, simmered in chili, or spooned over a baked potato.
Nutrition
Kitchen estimate only, not lab-verified. Lean or dark turkey changes the fat. This is a component, not a full plate.
Guest diet / allergy swaps
Short kitchen notes for guests. A fuller gluten-free or dairy-free ingredient list, when we have one, is in the panels below.
Low-sodium friendly
Leave the salt out. The sausage-style flavor comes from sage, oregano, pepper, onion, and garlic, not from a salted seasoning packet.
Gluten-free style
Use plain ground turkey and single spices. Skip any sausage blend that lists wheat filler.
No turkey
Ground chicken takes the same spices. The cook time is similar.
No pork
This is already the pork-free path when a chili or breakfast recipe calls for pork sausage.
