Ingredients

  • 4 medium ears / 408 g Husked sweet corn
  • 1 cup / 237 g Water, for the cooker

Method

  1. Husk 4 ears of sweet corn and pull off the silk. The post says husked corn and does not count the ears. This card uses 4 medium ears. A USDA medium ear yields 102 g of kernels, so 4 are 408 g. That yield is the kernels. The cob is not in the count. A large ear yields 143 g and is not used. The post does not say yellow or white. This card uses yellow sweet corn.
  2. Pour 1 cup of water into the pressure cooker. The post says about 1 cup of water in the bottom of the pot. A cup of tap water is 237 g. Set the steel rack in the pot. The water stays under the rack. It is not spooned over the corn.
  3. Lay the husked ears on the rack. Close the lid and set the valve to sealing. Cook 2 minutes at high pressure. When the time is up, quick-release the steam. The post gives both of those times. Keep your hands clear of the steam. Do not open the cooker until the pin drops. The pot needs time to come up to pressure. The post does not time that.
  4. Lift the ears out. The post does not list salt or butter. Do not add a pinch that was not in the list. A later comment adds salt and butter after the ears come out. That plate is a different count, so it is not this card. The post does not give a yield. Four ears is the pot. This card cuts 4 ears, one each. Leftovers keep covered in the fridge for a few days. Reheat until the corn is hot.

Nutrition

Kitchen estimate only, not lab-verified. Counted as 1 of 4 ears. The post does not give a yield. Four medium ears is the pot, so this card cuts 4. The corn and the water are in the count. The post does not count the ears. A USDA medium ear yields 102 g of kernels, so 4 are 408 g. The cob is not in that yield. A large ear is 143 g and is not used. The row is raw yellow sweet corn. Cooked corn is not the row, because the ear goes in raw. The water is 1 cup, 237 g, tap water, under the rack. The post said about 1 cup. The water is not spooned over the corn. It does not move the rounded ear. The post does not list salt or butter. Do not add a pinch that was not in the list. A later comment adds butter. That butter is not in the count. Added sugars are 0. The card did not list a sweetener. About 6 g of sugars per ear sit in the corn. One ear is 15 mg sodium.
