Slow Cooker Bacon Ranch Chicken
SaveChicken breasts, cream cheese, and ranch seasoning on low for about five hours, then shredded with cooked bacon, cheese, and green onions.

Allergen tags are cooking labels. They are not medical advice.
Ingredients
- 2 lb / 900 g Boneless skinless chicken breasts
- 1 block (8 oz / 226 g) Cream cheese
- 1 packet or 2 Tbsp Dry ranch seasoning
- ½ cup / 120 ml Chicken broth
- ½ lb / 225 g (1 lb / 450 g if you want more) Bacon, cooked and crumbled
- 8 oz / 226 g Shredded cheese, such as cheddar
- To taste Green onions, chopped
Method
- Put the chicken, cream cheese, broth, and ranch seasoning in a slow cooker. Cover and cook on LOW about 5 hours, until the thickest piece reads 165°F / 74°C and the meat pulls apart.
- While the chicken cooks, fry the bacon in a skillet until it is crisp and fully cooked. Drain it and crumble it. Add only cooked bacon to the pot.
- Shred the chicken in the cooker. Stir in the crumbled bacon, shredded cheese, and green onions until the cheese melts into the sauce.
- Serve on sandwich buns, over rice, or on its own with a fork.
Nutrition
Kitchen estimate only, not lab-verified. Cream cheese, cheese, and bacon are the rich parts. Ranch seasoning and broth are the salty parts.
Guest diet / allergy swaps
Short kitchen notes for guests. A fuller gluten-free or dairy-free ingredient list, when we have one, is in the panels below.
No pork
Use turkey bacon, cooked crisp and crumbled the same way. Read that package. The pot then drops the pork from the bacon. Ranch seasoning and broth still need a label check.
Low-sodium friendly
Use low-sodium chicken broth and a reduced-sodium ranch seasoning. A regular ranch packet is salty. This is a kitchen note, not a low-sodium diet.
Gluten-free style
Use ranch seasoning labeled gluten-free. Many packets contain wheat. Serve over rice, or on buns labeled gluten-free. Skip ordinary sandwich buns.
- United States: Ranch seasoning labeled gluten-free, then rice or gluten-free buns. Bacon and cream cheese stay.
- United Kingdom: Check the ranch sachet for wheat. Serve with rice if the bun label is unclear.
Lighter cream cheese
Use a reduced-fat cream cheese block, same 8 oz / 226 g. The sauce will be a little thinner.
